My Portfolio
I created some graphic that were posted around the UGA campus and featured on the UGA PNE instagram. Check it out at https://www.instagram.com/uga_pne/
This project introduced me to community and health nutrition, so it is very important to me. This was one of my first projects as a PNE. I created this graphic to go around the UGA campus in January 2026. For this project I had to learn how to create messages that would resonate with the public easily and quickly. I had so much information to share and had to find the best ways to get it across. I learned to create simple yet meaningful messages to share with my community. This helped to improve my communication skills along with my ability to understand perception of those around me.
I am certified in CBT for Behavioral Change in Obesity Care.
Becoming certified in behavioral change CBT for obesity care showcases my interest in chronic disease prevention. I want to work in a population including patients with obesity after I receive my RDN credential. This certificate showcases my drive and commitment to perform well in this profession.
I ran a nutrition intervention where I educated moderately active women ages 35-50 on the importance of calcium and vitamin D intake for bone integrity and muscle function. This was a 4 week intervention that included education material from instagram and pamphlets. Women reported, after the intervention, an increase in calcium consumption, vitamin D consumption, and increased nutrition knowledge on bone health and muscle function. This was my first real world nutrition intervention and it opened my eyes to the counseling and education world. I loved getting to help these women, who were so eager to learn, about how to improve their health. Through this process I learned a lot about nutrition education method's and counseling tactics.
As a Peer Nutrition Educator at UGA I reached communities on and off UGA campus. My favorite events were nutrition education and games at the Athens YMCA and YMCO. At the Athens YMCA (right) I coordinated a string of nutrition education games for young members as ways to get active and learn about balanced meals. At the Athens WYCO (left) I lead a presentation on nutrition through the life span and hosted nutrition bingo. This was a fun and interactive way to spread nutrition awareness and education.
